With their contribution to Diynamic’s Four To The Floor series, they already turned heads. 2023 they are kicking off with the „Picture: “ - the 6-track mini album by Irish brothers Joe and Cahir, better known as Disfreq.

Opening track „Como“ is a thunderstorm. The infectious vocal is looming over us like dark clouds. The edgy synth is rolling over the dance floor like thunder, and then the powerful percussions hit like lightning strikes. And we’re all dancing our hearts out in the downpour.
„Flame“ is no less energetic, but shows more of Disfreq’s emotional side. The increasingly raspy lead synth is complemented with a melancholic vocal. Growing in intensity, until finally it merges into a dreamy arpeggio for its grand finale.
Inspired by an interview with Daft Punk comes „Innovator“, a tip of the hat to the legendary duo in Disfreq’s own façon, complete with robotic vocals and a French House inspired arpeggio.
„Hands“ is like a big ego dancer in a club - lots of attitude and personality, it looks you straight into the eyes while it conquers dance floor real estate.
Then „Moville“, with its breakbeat-ish percussions and raspy-electronica appeal shows Disfreq’s ability to reach beyond the club and into a sophisticated pop environment, while still retaining their inherent club identity.
And closing off the „Picture: Disfreq“ is „Danz“, a very raw, highly melodic and hypnotic tune that perfectly showcases Disfreq’s signature traits of a powerful energy, nostalgic emotionality and immediate catchiness.

The „Picture” series is a document in time, showcasing an artist’s current creative output in order to allow the listener to visualize and understand the artist in a certain period. It is a mini-album with various dancefloor-oriented facettes of its producers, shaping the imagery that ultimately results in the listeners mind.
